New York Aquarium
Lincoln and I went out to the New York Aquarium at Coney Island today. As soon as we walked in Lincoln spotted the first tank. He was so excited and just stood there on the ledge pointing at the fish.
I don’t think I had ever seen a walrus in person before. They were so BIG! They kept coming right up to the glass like they were saying hello, it was really cool.
Lincoln really liked that they had several displays at his level. He got to feel octopus tentacles and make a little fish wag his tail (that was his favorite!)
I was trying to take a picture of this huge turtle (tortoise?) and that stupid shark got in the way.
Lincoln decided he was done riding in his stroller and that he would much rather push it himself. I probably shouldn’t have even brought the stroller, but it’s so handy for storing stuff. Oh well, at least I had someone to help me push it!
The last thing we did was wait for the sea lion show. I think Lincoln was a little over it by then, but I thought the show was really cool! Lincoln did discover, however, that his new favorite toy is my lens cap, so he was entertained.

Let’s Hear it for New York!
We’ve made the transition from Ithaca to Brooklyn for the summer. We’re all moved into our little one-bedroom apartment and are trying to get used to living in the big city. Lincoln is doing really well with the adjustment for the most part, but we’ll have to see if we all continue to sleep in the same room.
It looks like we’re interviewing Lincoln when we feed him now.
Jonathan started his new job yesterday, but so far it doesn’t sound too hard.
Lincoln and I ventured into Manhattan today for the first time by ourselves. We’ve discovered the stroller is, more or less, useless, so I took him in the Moby Wrap and that worked well. We walked around Central Park and Lincoln got lots of attention for being so cute. He continued being cute when we got home and he got dinner all over his face.

Beebe Lake and the Cookie Monster
On Saturday we went on a short hike around Beebe lake on campus. We had never been down there before and didn’t really know it even existed. Now that we’ve only got a year left in Ithaca, I feel like we need to do as much of this stuff as possible!
Lincoln really loves to drink from our huge (by comparison) water bottle.
When we got home from our little hike I decided to have a couple of cookies, but someone stole one (with a little help from his dad.) What a monster!
