18 Months Old

Conan turned 18 months old the other day. He is growing up. He’s still in the 90% for height and a little under 75th for weight. He loves cars and trucks and can constantly be heard exclaiming “Big truck!” whenever he spots one. He is talking more and more every day and constantly charming us… when he’s not waking us up at 5 am. Here are the 18 month pictures that I took today:

I really loved this drift wood background, but I just could not get him to look at me and smile there.

Lincoln was a wonderful second shooter today. He helped me make Conan laugh by saying, “Scooby do-be,” but he had a really hard time staying out of the pictures. He kept saying, “But I just want to stand by Conan,” which is not something he would normally want to do. In the end I gave him my phone and asked him to take some pictures and all jealousy was assuaged.

Lincoln in the News

Yesterday the boys and I ventured into DC when we heard that an artist was going to be creating a chalk mural on a sidewalk in Dupont Circle. We watched the artist work for a little while and asked her a few questions. She mentioned that she wanted children to finish the title of the mural she had started and asked Lincoln if he’d like to help. Never one to turn down a piece of sidewalk chalk, Lincoln obliged and dutifully colored in the letters that she had outlined. While he was coloring, a journalist for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire approached me to ask me a few questions, then asked if she could take some photos of Lincoln for her article. It may not be the largest media outlet there is, but it was still pretty fun to see Lincoln in the story. You can check out the article here.
