Jonathan blessed Conan with his dad at Church on Sunday. We were a little rushed getting there since there were too many of us to fit into the car at the same time, but we made it and Conan was a perfect prince during the blessing. Riding in the car seriously knocks him out.
It’s been a while since I posted, so these pictures are a little old (two weeks), but I thought they were too cute not to be posted. Lincoln sure loves his little brother (sometimes more than others)!
Lincoln celebrated his third birthday this week. Conan sort of complicated any party plans we may have made, so it was a pretty low key birthday at home, but Lincoln didn’t seem to mind at all.
My mom got to be here for his birthday, so that was a special treat for both of them. She got Lincoln some “Dinosaur Train” toys that talk to each other and they were definitely his favorite present.
I made a simple basketball cake for the birthday boy and he loved it! He was so excited when we sang to him and he really tried to blow out the candles, but needed a little help from Daddy in the end. While Jonathan was cutting the cake Lincoln kept yelling, “It’s my birthday! That’s my birthday cake!” This little boy is just becoming more and more fun each day! I can’t wait for his 4th birthday!
In non-birthday news:
Lincoln has been demonstrating his big brother skills lately. Conan hates being put in his car seat (even though he falls asleep moments later) and always cries. While I’m getting shoes and coats Lincoln rocks the car seat. It is the sweetest thing. He says, “Oh, Conan’s crying… better rock him.”
A few months ago Lincoln was riding his tricycle and the handlebars and front wheel came off. After we got the pieces home I told him that Daddy would fix it when he got home, but the tricycle sat on our deck in pieces until a few days ago. Lincoln decided to take matters into his own hands and fix it himself. It really only needed to be snapped back together, so Lincoln was able to do it all on his own! He’s getting so big!
We were so happy to have my mom come and help us for a week! Lincoln loved getting to spend some time with his Grandma and I loved having an extra set of hands around to help with Conan.
Here are some pictures from Conan’s first week home. I love having a baby around again! Lincoln is a little less excited, but I think he’s getting used to the idea.

Lincoln showed absolutely no interest in this bug chair until Conan came home. Now he climbs in it and tells us he’s a baby. Also we normally take the toys off, but Lincoln kept finding them and putting them back on. Jonathan finally hid them, but Lincoln somehow managed to find them again today so they went straight back on the chair.

We have felt a few pangs of jealousy since Conan’s arrival, but overall it seems like Lincoln really likes his baby brother so far.
Everyone told me Lincoln would look big after I had the baby and everyone was right. Where did this giant kid come from?
After Conan’s hasty and somewhat unexpected arrival last Tuesday, the stars were out this weekend, offering a hearty “welcome” to the little guy.
Little Conan Lawrence Jones made a speeding entrance into our family on Valentine’s Day evening. He was a week earlier then expected, but we are so so grateful to have him here. He was seven pounds even and 20 inches long. We’re all home now and doing great as we adjust to life as a family of four.
Jonathan’s mom asked me for a few pictures of Lincoln so we had a mini photo shoot in the mud today. Lincoln is currently basking in his parents’ undivided attention as his days as an only child (and a 2 year old) grow fewer and fewer.
I tried editing a few, but Photoshop is not really my forte.
